Advice About Writing An Article About Female Gaming....
Richard Cobbett has a great tongue-in-cheek look at the issue of writing articles about females and gaming. Get the full effect here.
As a female writing about games I've tilted at this particular windmill a couple times myself. I'm frantically reading back through my articles now to see how many of his "rules" I follow. ;)
As funny as it is, it's still disheartening. What he doesn't point out there is if you don't follow at least some of those rules, people pretty much don't read your article. They don't seem to want to have a real discussion. And if you really aren't a "sir" writing this, very few people are going to read it anyways.
